Bridge of Spies – Movie Review

Official Synopsis: An American lawyer is recruited by the CIA during the Cold War to help rescue a pilot detained in the Soviet Union.

Review Summary: Bridge of Spies sees Spielberg and Hanks in top form, crafting a wholly unique Cold War thriller using old Hollywood techniques. It’s easy to take this kind of filmmaking for granted. We’ve seen Spielberg’s talent in action for decades. But amongst the sea of mediocrity we’re assaulted with, it’s immeasurably fulfilling to experience a film that purposefully examines the small moments. Studios today are obsessed with superheroes, CGI and making a quick buck. It’s a real pleasure to sit in a theater, watching a film that’s resting in the hands of a master. Spielberg, never quit making movies, you continue to remind me why I love them.
