Official Synopsis: A lonely writer develops an unlikely relationship with his newly purchased operating system that’s designed to meet his every need.
Review Summary: When the lights dim inside the theater, my ultimate wish to be transported to another place. A place that feels real, inhabitable, tangible. One that’s filled with genuine characters I believe exist in this fictional place. Her succeeded in all of the above. Joaquin Phoenix is fantastic, and Scarlett Johansson gives perhaps one of the best voice performances ever. The quasi-science fiction story of the film feels entirely possible, as Phoenix stares around him at passersby, all entranced with an electronic device in their hands. I was engrossed fully in the relationship that develops, which made the emotional impact of Her very strong. Excellent acting, writing and directing all around!
