I, Frankenstein – Movie Review
January is nearly over! But unfortunately for us, movies like I, Frankenstein are still being released. Hit the jump to watch my review…
Official Synopsis: Frankenstein’s creature finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.
Review Summary: Movies don’t get more derivative then I, Frankenstein. What we’ve got here is an assemblage of the worst parts of Resident Evil, Underworld and Blade. This is a terribly paced film, with characters who suffer from what I refer to as “Acceptive-of-everything syndrome”. There’s gargoyles, creatures from the underworld, and Frankenstein’s monster dueling in the streets, but of course, the love interest in the film accepts all of this as fact without a shred of disbelief. The effects are poor, the dialogue is laughable, and despite Aaron Eckhart’s valiant efforts, the whole thing feels like a cheesy TV movie.
Starring: Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Socratis Otto, Jai Courtney, Kevin Grevioux
Directed by: Stuart Beattie
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for sequences of intense fantasy action and violence throughout
Run Time: 93 min.
