Official Synopsis: Based on the failed June 28, 2005 mission “Operation Red Wings”. Four members of SEAL Team 10 were tasked with the mission to capture or kill notorious Taliban leader Ahmad Shahd.
Review Summary: Lone Survivor marks one of the few occasions where all out chaos and brutality can trump story. Because in the case of these four men, that was the story. The remarkable tale of their fight for survival against crushing odds is at times tough to watch. Peter Berg adds a bone-crushing intensity to the action, and the actors, especially Wahlberg, give their all. Despite the lack of character development, watching these guys struggle to prevail was enthralling and heartbreaking all at once.
