Man of Steel – Movie Review
After the disappointing Superman Returns, Zach Snyder has helmed a reboot for the beloved character. Does it finally give us the ass-kicking Superman we deserve? Hit the jump to watch my full review…
Official Synopsis: A young itinerant worker is forced to confront his secret extrastellar origin when Earth is invaded by members of his own race.
Review Summary: The character of Superman is a difficult nut to crack. It’s been done well in the past, but some would say we still haven’t gotten the “perfect” Superman movie. Man of Steel does it’s best to give the Kryptonian hero justice, and it’s action is wonderful to behold. Clark’s multiple father-and-son tales are beautifully realized, and it’s a very fun movie to watch. However, the romance is shallow, and the man in blue feels withdrawn from the audience.
Starring: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Lawrence Fishburne
Directed by: Zach Snyder
MPAA Rating: PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence, action and destruction, and for some language
Run Time: 143 min.
