Only God Forgives – Movie Review

Only-God-Forgives

Ryan Gosling returns with director Nicolas Winding Refn at the helm. How does Only God Forgives compare to Drive? Is it even fair to compare them? Hit the jump to watch my full review…

Official Synopsis: Julian, a drug-smuggler thriving in Bangkok’s criminal underworld, sees his life get even more complicated when his mother compels him to find and kill whoever is responsible for his brother’s recent death.

Review Summary: To describe this movie in terms of plot is a fruitless endeavor. Only God Forgives features beautiful, metaphorical imagery that carries a much heavier weight than most people will care for. It’s extremely violent, and the story rarely makes sense, but I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this film. It’s odd, it’s weird, it’s special.
