The Monuments Men – Movie Review
Lots of mixed reactions are traversing the world wide web about The Monuments Men, hit the jump to see my take on the film…
Official Synopsis: An unlikely World War II platoon are tasked to rescue art masterpieces from Nazi thieves and return them to their owners.
Review Summary: Sometimes a film has nothing but good intentions, and is filled to the brim with talent, all giving their best on screen, yet still is a bland, dull experience. The Monuments Men is one such film. I respect the inspiring story being told, but the film’s screenplay doesn’t have the necessary weight in its pages, or the depth in its characters, which come off one-dimensional. It was a good effort, but next time, Clooney should give more attention to creating intriguing characters.
